HisabDiary Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the HisabDiary app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by Ankit Gangwar (collectively, the "Application"). Ankit Gangwar is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to:

Phone Number: Used for authentication via SMS OTP.
Email Address (Optional): Collected if you use the Cloud Backup feature to manage your Google Drive backups and for account recovery purposes.

This information is used to securely sync your financial data across multiple devices and ensure you can recover your records even if you lose your device.

2. Permissions and Data Usage

The Application requests the following permissions to support its features:

Contacts: Used only to allow you to quickly select members from your phonebook when creating groups or adding customers. We do not upload your contact list to our servers.
Biometrics: If you enable the "App Lock" feature, we use the device's biometric system (Fingerprint/Face ID) for secure access. The app never accesses or stores your actual biometric data.
Google Drive API: Used for the "Cloud Backup" feature. The Application uses your Google Account's email address to create and manage a dedicated, private folder on your Google Drive for your backups. We do not access, view, or store any other personal files, photos, or documents on your Google Drive. This data is used solely for the purpose of restoring your financial records.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your financial records and personal data are stored on secure servers provided by Google Cloud Platform (Firebase). We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain. However, please be aware that no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

4. Account and Data Deletion

HisabDiary provides users with full control over their data. You can permanently delete your account and all associated records directly within the Application by navigating to More > Delete Account. Upon deletion, all your personal information—including your phone number, email address (if provided), all personal expense data, and customer ledger data stored on our Firebase servers—will be permanently wiped out.

The Application is not intended for children under 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If it is discovered that a child has provided personal information, it will be immediately deleted from our servers.

7. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal data.
